There is no ‘I’ in Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2!

Now be nice and make sure that they were killed gently...

One of my favorite pastimes is hanging around the World Wide Web and playing computer games. And one of my all time favorite games is none other than Valve’s War-themed hat simulator, Team Fortress 2.

If you didn’t know, no, Team Fortress 2 is not a hat simulator (obviously). It is a class based first-person shooter created by Valve Software in which two teams battle it out to gain objectives. This highly acclaimed game released in November of 2007 was one of the best team shooters ever to grace our tiny planet.

TF2 WAR update!

When in war, it is always a gained advantage if you take out an enemy.

What I love about this game is the insane amount of replayability and unpredictability every single time you play a single round in this game. Every round is different because different players would bring in different weapons to change up the strategies needed to play. It is also very satisfying to see your team working together to earn a well achieved objective. Every player in the game can choose various setups to suit their own unique playstyle and with the immense number of updates given out by Valve for the game, you can’t resist not having to play it for a few more hours a day.

What’s also cool is that Valve has made tons of little teasers in their blog about the game that makes the community wonder just what is coming up next. It’s little things like this that makes people glued to their seats, scratching their heads and thinking of many, many different theories as to what might be added to the game next.

They’ve used media like videos, comics and gags to not only explain the Team Fortress 2 world and storyline, but they also use this to tease the community on what they’re possible going to do next. They’ve also been participating in community events like competitions and talks to keep the community happy and that is what makes the game still going so strongly after all these years.

TF2, being one of the most critically acclaimed games out there throws out surprise after surprise once every month or so. The most interesting surprise being TF2 becoming a free-to-play game for all to play. This was announced a couple of months back and it really sent the community talking. Now there are all new players in the game that are just cannon fodder for explosives and bullets.

Although it’s generally an old game, you should check it out if you have the time. They’ve added tons of content into the game and since it’s free-to-play, you have the chance to go and check it out. Of course if you don’t really like the game, I’m not forcing ya’ but just give it a try and you’ll understand how much care and love Valve put into a game like this.
